Filler – The Oxpecker Tells a Joke
You’re already heard that joke right?
Well, just in case…
What does a 300 pound canary say?
…
“Here kitty kitty kitty…”
And while we’re at it, here’s another one: Two muffins are baking in an oven. One of them says “Man it’s hot in here!” Then the other one says “Holy crap a talking muffin!”
I think the challenging part of these filler strips is to come up with something that’s actually entertaining on such short notice. I’ve got like six or seven Rhino and Oxpecker scripts written. And I’ve actually got a couple finished strips that are sitting on my hard drive. But not all of them are that funny, and at the last moment I think of one that’s funnier than the one I have ready to go.
If I had known what I was going to post ahead of time I could have cut out the crap I don’t need. But then again, I guess that’s the idea of posting a quick filler while I work on the real stuff.
And speaking of the real stuff, while I still don’t know quite when I will be ready to start the next chapter, rest assured that I am making real progress. In fact, here’s a sample of some trees I painted.
