Notice for all Megaman fans

on September 23, 2013 at 2:19 PM and modified on December 13, 2013. at 1:43 PM

I figure I ought to mention this; share it in case someone out there isn’t already aware of this.

So apparently the guy who originally designed Megaman (Rockman) and worked on every Megaman game decided to leave Capcom and start his own studio, and a lot of his friends at Capcom went with him.

Right now they are working on a new game, and it’s up on Kickstarter. While they don’t have the actual rights to Megaman anymore, they are making a new game that for all intents and purposes is the next Megaman title; the title we the fans have wanted for years but Capcom hasn’t put any money into. It’s called Mighty No. 9 and everything I’ve seen looks fantastic. So if you are a fan of the Megaman games, please head over to kickstarter and check out their project. Throw them some money. Let’s make this the best game it can be.

Also you might want to take a look at the Kickstarter for Wayforward; they want to make a new Shantae game. They have a track record of amazing games.

September 2013 Update: Comic Con Report

on September 9, 2013 at 10:17 AM and modified on September 9, 2013. at 11:12 PM

So the Salt Lake Comic Con was great! It actually broke records and is the most attended inaugural event (ie, first annual) of any such convention, and the fourth largest comic convention in North America within the last two years. The fire marshall and the Salt Palace both estimate that 70,000 to 80,000 people were there just on Saturday, so next year it could easily rival the San Diego Comic Con. I went to a lot of panels that gave great advice for things I should do with my writing and my artwork. I got to bump heads with some webcomic greats like Aneeka Richins and Howard Taylor. I didn’t get to see William Shatner, but oh well, I went to Kevin Murphy‘s panel instead. I’m quite likely to have a booth/table next year, so I hope you’ll come.

For two of the three days I had -by my best count- 108 pictures taken of me in my costume. I’m scouring the internet to find some of those picture, but I haven’t found much yet. But you can see a picture of me in the newspaper! Check out page 5A in the Standard Examiner for September 7th! I’ve got a copy of it below.

So, on to more comic-related news.

I also want to inform you that this last week I bought a new computer. The REAL reason the last page wasn’t colored was basically a combination of the time I spent shopping for, assembling, and installing software onto my new computer, PLUS my work schedule being moved around so I could go to Comic Con. And now this week, with transitioning to my new computer, and Comic Con itself, and putting the final touches on my anniversary content, I don’t anticipate the next post to be fully colored either. However I do intend to get everything finished, updated, and back on schedule by the 18th, but I just can’t say for certain if I can get everything back on track sooner.

Convention ahead

on August 22, 2013 at 12:09 PM and modified on December 13, 2013. at 3:11 PM

So, since I have little else to mention in the news, I might as well do what every other webcomicer does and mention my convention schedule.

I’m going to the Salt Lake Comic Con!

…as an attendee. Maybe next year I’ll actually buy space at a booth or a table or something, but right now I’m just going to check it out. If you happen to cross paths with me there, I’m probably willing to shake hands or something. We’ll see.

This is actually the first convention I’ll have gone to since… Wow, since Voyager was on the air. I’m kinda excited. This convention used to be called “Geex” (Gaming and Electronics EXpo) and focused on gaming. I had been wanting to go to it, but last year I didn’t have the money and the year before I didn’t find out about it until it was over. And now they are renaming it to be Comic Con, and bringing in more guests and stuff. Oh well, I guess that’s life.

UPDATE:

I’ve printed some business cards for my comic that I can hand out to people. I put images from my comic on the backs, and there are eight different designs. I guess that makes them like trading cards! Collect all eight!* Also, two of the images have a special sneak preview of something that’s coming in a couple short weeks. So if you see me, ask for one of those cards specifically! I’ll likely either be dressed just as you see me in the comic, or in my famous cheap wookie costume.

*I only printed 24 cards, so only one per customer.
