I’m trying out Disqus as the comment system on this site. I’ve been very pleased with it on other sites, so I wanted to try it here.

The biggest drawback I am finding now is that all the old comments I imported in are now “guest comments” and all use the same guest avatar. It looks ugly.

But it turns out there is a solution. If you -yes you the reader- have a Disqus account, go to Disqus.com and edit your account. Go to the “Merging” tab and you will see an option to have all of the guest comments made with your email address be merged with your Disqus account.

I had no idea that option was there.
